Twist to Empires of the Undergrowth
Exploding Ants brings a game-changing twist to Empires of the Undergrowth by adding two formidable new species — one termite, one ant — each wielding the explosive power of autothysis. These self-sacrificing units can detonate themselves to deal devastating damage, turning the tide in desperate moments.
Available across all modes — Freeplay, Custom Games, Remix campaign levels, and Story Mode’s formicarium defense — these new species introduce explosive tactics and powerful counters against invading threats. Whether you're crafting new strategies or defending your colony, these volatile additions offer a thrilling new edge to your underground empire.
About the base game:
Empires of the Undergrowth is a mix of real-time strategy and a base-building game that lets you create your kingdom from the ground up. Literally, as you will lead armies of ants. Even though it's a microscale, you will have to express the same skills required when you conquer whole galaxies. In Empires of the Undergrowth, you have to take care of expanding your nest, send workers to gather precious resources, and hatch different kinds of warriors.
Army ants
You will go underground to expand your nest. It's your base, so you must have to plan it wisely to design nurseries and protect your queen. Specialize your ants so they become effective workers or fearless warriors. Moreover, each species has different abilities. Some ants are great in melee combat, whereas others can be used as artillery. Empires of the Undergrowth's game modes will let you combine them to build an unstoppable ant army. Its task won't be easy as many different enemies will try to crash your brave insects. Besides many ant species, you will face insects and animals that threaten your colony.
