New species and new biomes
The Blightstorm continues to wreak havoc as Against the Storm – Nightwatchers expands the world with a wealth of new content. Viceroys now have access to a fresh species, the Bats — masters of metallurgy who thrive on adversity and grow more determined when their allies falter. Alongside them come two distinct new biomes, each offering unique challenges and opportunities.
As rebellious smugglers push back against the rule of the Scorched Queen, settlers may now venture into the unforgiving Rocky Ravines. These desolate landscapes offer rich veins of ore and minerals in place of forests, requiring settlements to rely on the black market for essential goods while they extract resources from towering basalt formations.
Alternatively, the Bamboo Flats provide a greener, though no less demanding, option. Abundant with life but plagued by soil erosion from constant rainfall, these lush lands are home to the enigmatic Fluffbeak — a creature capable of producing valuable fertilizer. Settlers who learn to keep this beast content can strategically enrich the land and ensure a more fertile future.
About the base game:
You are Viceroy, a loyal servant of the Scorched Queen. You are given the task of establishing new settlements in yet unclaimed territory. Your main goal is to survive long enough to gather valuable resources needed to rebuild and upgrade the Smoldering City after it got destroyed by the Blightstorm. But it will be tough. The Queen's demands are back-breaking and the world is always against you.
With hundreds of game modifiers, 5 different biomes, and a roguelite style, you will never play the same way twice. The game will force you to create new strategies every time, whether it comes to posing the weather conditions or city "builds". Use the strengths of each group of your citizens to reshape your surrounding world, gather unique resources to develop Smoldering City, and make it in time before the Blightstorm inevitably occurs again.
